Sponsor

• Have an eligible settled sponsor who is an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen
• Must be 18 years old or older
• Meet character requirement

Applicant

• Application can be lodged in or outside Australia
• Must be 18 years old or older
• Sponsored by an eligible settled sponsor (can be same or different sex relationship )
• The applicant must be married or in de facto relationship for at least 12 months with the sponsor
• Meet health and character requirement

Prospective Marriage Visa (Subclass 300)

Eligibility:

Sponsor

• Have an eligible settled sponsor who is an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen
• Must be 18 years old or older
• Meet character requirement

Applicant

• Must be 18 years old or older
• Be sponsored (can be same or different sex relationship)
• Be outside Australia when the application is lodged
• Meet health and character requirement
• For subclass 300, the visa period is 9 months and applicant is required to get married within 9 months and then apply for subclass 820/801 visa

Contributory Parent Visa (Subclass 143) and Contributory Parent (Temporary) Visa (Subclass 173)

Eligibility:

Sponsor

• Have an eligible settled sponsor who is an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen
• Must be 18 years old or older

Applicant

• Must pass family test (at least half of your children and step-children are eligible children, or there are more eligible children living in Australia than any other single country)
• Applicant can be in or outside Australia when the application is made
• Be sponsored by eligible children
• Meet health and character requirement

Contributory Aged Parent Visa (Subclass 864) and Contributory Aged Parent (Temporary) Visa (Subclass 884)

• Have an eligible settled sponsor who is an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen
• Must be 18 years old or older

Applicant

• Must pass family test (at least half of your children and step-children are eligible children, or there are more eligible children living in Australia than aany other single country)
• Be old enough to receive the age pension in Australia
• Be in Australia when the application is made
• Be sponsored by eligible children
• Meet health and character requirement
