Secondary school

 

Secondary schools in the UK generally offer Secondary One to Secondary Seven. The courses are the same as those in Hong Kong. The first to third trimesters of Secondary One, Secondary Three and Secondary Four are GCSEs and the A-levels or International Foundation Diploma (S6) IB) course. Students who progress to university after graduating from Secondary 7 will be assessed on the basis of their matriculation and extracurricular activities. The UK examinations and college entrance examination courses more flexible than Hong Kong. Without the restrictions of Hong Kong's required subjects, students can choose subjects according to their own preferences. In the United Kingdom, students can study history, physics and economics at the same time. The three subjects are from liberal arts and business subjects. All British secondary schools provide counseling on selected subjects as students progress to the Secondary 4 and Secondary 6 preparatory courses so as to help students choose suitable and intersesting subjects.

College

Tertiary institutions are divided into two major categories: government colleges and private colleges. Both of them aim at students going to college or employment. The mode of study of tertiary colleges is similar to that of universities, giving students more freedom. For example, there is no fixed school, school hours, and no requirement to wear school uniforms. Therefore, college students need to learn independence and responsibility to make them more suitable for admission to university.
 
Private colleges, provide students with more comprehensive care. Private tertiary institutes put a lot of resources on teachers and learning equipment and provide comprehensive support and care for students. Some colleges and universities provide students with an unlimited number of extra-curricular home remedial classes and weekly quizzes to ensure the progress of their studies. As for accommodation, most private tertiary institutions have dormitories. Students are also welcome to stay in homestay accommodation.

University

One-year master's program and three-year undergraduate degrees
Due to the close compilation of courses, undergraduate degrees and master's courses in the UK can be completed within three years and within one year respectively. Compared with other countries, where it generally takes four years to complete an undergraduate university degree and two years to complete a master's program.

University curriculum diversification
The UK Higher Education Institute has more courses and disciplines than Hong Kong, such as aircraft engineering, veterinary medicine and astronomy. The academic qualifications are internationally recognized. Courses blend the latest

Undergraduate Program
Bachelor's degree programs in the UK are generally three-year programs, with the exception of disciplines such as engineering (four years) and medicine (5-6 years). Students can be A-Level, IB Diploma, University Foundation Courses or equivalent
to qualify for a bachelor's degree. Due to the diversity of academic programs, students can make their own choices based on their personal interests and needs.

 

Postgraduate Program
Courses generally take one year and are offered in a lecture or research format, generally requiring an IELTS score of 6.5 or above.
